Sense of place

While walking around the Florida Gulf Coast University Campus, I found my sense of place to be on the nature trails where it is serene and peaceful.  I especially like to go running on these trails.  The smell of fresh air and the wind blowing through my hair is such a better experience than running on a treadmill in a humid, smelly gym.  It is nice to feel like you are one with nature.  The surrounding environment seems to be so alive with all the birds, insects, and lakes.  As I walk back onto campus the sight of buildings and shuttles take over.  This seems to cause the anxiety of school to return.  I would much rather be enjoying the views of the peaceful nature trails.  I think this natural instinct comes from being brought up in a small town.  I grew up always playing sports outside and enjoying the outdoors with Ohio’s many seasons, and I wouldn’t change that for the world!
